How verification works
Buyers trust numbers that come from the source, not numbers typed into a form. Verification is how a listing shows that its app, its ownership and its figures are real. It is free, and most sellers finish it in a few minutes.
The four requirements
A listing is Verified when it has all four. Each one is checked automatically from what the seller submitted.
| Requirement | What it means |
|---|---|
| Seller account | The listing was submitted from a signed-in AppAcquire account. |
| Proof of ownership | The seller added store, developer or account proof with their application. |
| Public store link | A real App Store or Google Play link for the app. |
| Linked data source | A connected integration for that same app (see below). The connection must be for the app on the store link. |
Which connections count
Any one of these counts as the linked data source. Each proves something different.
| Integration | What it proves | Revenue verified? |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | Live revenue, MRR and subscribers from a RevenueCat Verified page | Yes |
| Stripe | Revenue read from a read-only restricted key | Yes |
| TrustMRR | Revenue TrustMRR has already verified | Yes |
| App Store Connect | Ownership of the iOS app, proceeds and first-time downloads | Yes |
| Firebase Analytics | Active users and new users for the app | No, usage only |
| AdMob (coming soon) | Ad earnings for the app | Yes, ad revenue |
| Play Console (coming soon) | Ownership of the Android app, users, installs, ratings and revenue | When revenue reports are added |
What buyers see
- A gold Verified badge on the listing and in search results.
- Figures marked with their source, such as "App Store Connect" or "Firebase", instead of "Seller-reported".
- Charts and totals read from the source and signed by AppAcquire, so the seller cannot edit them.
- Verified listings rank above unverified ones, and buyers can filter for them.
Verified does not always mean revenue is verified
A listing can be Verified through Firebase Analytics, which confirms the app and its usage but not its revenue. In that case the listing says plainly that the revenue figures come from the seller. Only a revenue source (RevenueCat, Stripe, TrustMRR, App Store Connect, AdMob, or Play with revenue reports) makes revenue verified.
No revenue yet? You can still verify. App Store Connect, RevenueCat and Firebase Analytics all work before your first sale.
After you connect
- Your figures are a snapshot taken at connection time. To refresh them, connect again.
- Some connections are one-time checks (App Store Connect, Play Console): you can remove our access straight afterwards and the listing stays verified.
- If you change the store link on a live listing, verification is checked again, because the connection must match that link. See Edit your listing.
Troubleshooting
Why does my listing say "3 of 4 verified"?
One requirement is missing. The listing page shows which one. Usually it is the linked data source: connect an integration for the same app as your store link.
I connected a source but the listing is not Verified.
The connection has to be for the same app as the store link on the listing. If the app on the connection differs, connect the right one or fix the store link.
Do I need to pay for verification?
No. Verification and listing are free.
