Verified buyers and who can message you

Buyers can confirm their identity once with a government ID and a selfie. Sellers then choose how much they want from a buyer before a first message or offer.

For sellers: choose who can contact you

Change it for each listing on My Listings. The setting also applies to offers, since an offer opens a conversation. You always see a verified badge next to a buyer who has passed the check, whichever setting you use.

For buyers: how verification works

  1. Start

Open Verify your ID, or start from a listing whose seller asks for it.

  2. Check

You are sent to a secure page run by Didit. Photograph a passport, driving licence or ID card, then take a quick selfie.

  3. Badge

You come back to AppAcquire, usually within a minute, with a verified badge. If a person needs to look at it, it can take up to a day.

What we keep

  • We keep only the result, the country that issued your ID and the check's reference. We never see or store your ID, selfie or date of birth.
  • Sellers see a verified badge, never your documents or your legal name.
  • Didit, our verification partner, handles your documents under its own privacy policy.
  • It is free, and Escrow.com runs its own identity check again when you pay for an app.

Troubleshooting

My check was declined

Use a valid, unexpired ID, in good light, with all four corners in view, and try again. You have a few attempts.

I verified but the seller does not see a badge

Conversations you already started are badged as soon as your check passes. If a seller still does not see it, ask them to reload the conversation.
